ANNOUNCEMENTS

Second Annual Fish Fry at Warnol Valley Lakes, Dixon, MO - Friday, June 26th, from 6:30 pm until dark

Sponsored by the Pulaski Democrats, the fish fry will be held at Warnol Valley Lakes, 10401 Circle Road, Dixon, MO.

Tickets are $10.00 for adults; $5.00 for children 12 or under. Congressman Ike Skelton and Dr. Jon Hagler, Director of the Missouri Department of Agriculture, are expected to attend. For information, contact Clara ichord at 573-774-3770 or e-mail: cichord@embarqmail.com

Peace Vigils at Rolla Post Office will be held on Thursdays, from 12:00 noon - 1:00 pm. Vigils had been held previously on Fridays.

Rolla Area NAACP will hold its monthly meeting at 7:00 pm, First United Methodist Church, 608 N. Main, Rolla.

Weekly Peace Vigil at Rolla Post Office, 12:00 noon - 1:00 pm.

June 26 (Friday)

Phelps County Democratic Committee meets at the Phelps County Courthouse, 7:00 pm.

July 20 (Monday)

Health Care Forum, sponsored by Howell County Democrats, will be held at the Civic Center, Dogwood room #1, West Plains. A panel of local health professionals will speak on health care issues in the area and what they would like to support in a health care bill.

September 27 (Sunday)

Meet with Senator Frank Barnitz at a meat shoot at the Owensville Gun Club. Details to follow.

October 4 (Sunday)

5th Annual Golf Tournament, sponsored by Crawford County Democrats, will be held at Cuba Lakes Golf Course, 241 Highway O, Cuba, MO. Shotgun start at 1:00 pm. Hole in one: $10,000; prizes for longest drive, longest putt, and closest to pin. Dinner for $10.00 per person includes BBQ pork steaks, green beans, and baked potato. Please RSVP.

Saturday, November 8th - Phelps County Democrats will hold Post-Election Celebration and brief meeting at Democratic Campaign Headquarters, 905 Pine Street, beginning at 7:00 pm.

NAACP Candidate Forum - Thursday, October 30, Eugene E. Northern Community Hall, 400 W. 4th Street, Rolla. Doors open at 6:00 pm; program starts at 6:30 pm. All candidates for the following offices will attend: Districts 149 and 150 State Representatives, Phelps County Sheriff, Phelps County Surveyor, Phelps County Public Administrator, and Phelps County Commissioner, District 1. The program will inlcude short introductory speeches. There will be ample opportunity for those in attendance to ask questions. Speakers for and against Proposition C on Renewable Energy will also attend. The event is free and open to the public.

Last day to vote absentee in the General Election. Vote at Phelps County Clerk’s office, Phelps County Courthouse, up to 5:00 pm.

November 4 (Tuesday) - General Election
Polls open from 6:00 am - 7:00 pm. Your polling place will be listed on Voter Registration Card.
Note:
Bring an ID (any state driver’s license; any state ID card; U.S. Government ID; Missouri college ID or a bill or bank statement with your name and address
If you are in line at 7:00 pm, you have the right to vote
